Common Entrance application forms cost seven thousand naira (N7,000) only and can be purchased from Jewels Leading Lights School, or completed on our website. The application form will only be sold to parents whose child meets the age requirement. The school reserves the right to decline admission to Parents whose child does not meet all the requirements for admissions.

AGE REQUIREMENT

Students seeking admission into the following Year Group at the start of a school year in September must reach the required age by 31 August in that same year. The required age is:

Year 7 – 11 years old
Year 8 – 12 years old
Year 9 – 13 years old
Year 10 – 14 years old

Children who do not meet the age entry requirements will not be permitted to sit the entrance examination.

The school will not normally accept admissions into Years 11, except in special circumstances, and at the Principal’s discretion.

COMPLETING THE APPLICATION FORM

For the purpose of proper documentation and effective record keeping, it is very needful that you fill in the application form completely and correctly. All required supporting documents must be uploaded.

The form should be completed by the parent or guardian and duly signed and NOT by the child. Entrance application forms will be accepted on confirmation of payment of the application fee.

Ensure that the e-mail address given is active to facilitate communication.

Attach one recent passport-sized photograph, photocopies of immediate past academic records, bio-data page of the international passport or birth certificate. If your child is transferring to Jewels Leading Lights Academy from another Secondary School, please attach the Transfer Certificate and reference from the Principal of that school to the application. The duly completed application form should be returned to the school’s Administrative Office.

The Admissions Office will thereafter advise you of the dates available to sit our Entrance test.

ENTRANCE ASSESSMENT

All applicants will be required to sit for the School’s Entrance Test which lasts for 3 and a half hours. English & Mathematics are the subjects tested.

Entrance tests are scheduled for March and April in Abuja. Additional testing sessions are offered at a later date subject to availability of space.

Candidates should come along with writing materials, mathematical sets and a non-programmable calculator to write the test.

Students are expected to perform at average (65%) or above average in order to be granted admission.

The School reserves the right NOT to admit a child even if he/she has passed the entrance tests.

ADMISSION PROCESSING PERIOD

Jewels Leading Lights Academy High School academic year starts in September and ends in July. We encourage applicants to apply as early as possible. Application for admission will only be processed when all necessary documents as listed in the application form are received.

Once admission has been offered, acceptance is indicated by the payment of a onetime Capital Developmental fee which is NON-REFUNDABLE. Prospective students who fail to secure their place within the designated period may forfeit their admission and their space is given to other candidates.

A copy of child’s birth certificate / Data page of International Passport
One recent coloured passport photograph of the child.
English translated past academic records (For non-English speaking schools).
